There are numerous Dive Shops along the way that feature wall dives, canyons, caves, reef dives and wreck dives.

 

*James Bond Beach

A 19th century village located near the Fleming House. Surrounded by a sparkling strip of three white sand beaches including an optional nude beach. Change rooms, water sports, bar, restaurant and live music venue featuring hip hop, dancehall and reggae superstars. Celebrity clientele. Just a two minute drive west from Liberty Castle.


*Oracabessa

Still a laid back community, true classic Island style. The picturesque banana port village is famed for its natural beauty and the cliff top retreat Golden Eye. Ian Fleming, the creator of Master Spy 007 James Bond, wrote fourteen of his famous 007 novels here in the 1950’s.

A five minute drive west of Liberty Castle.

*Prospect Plantation

A tropical working farm tour of banana, sugarcane, cassava, coffee and allspice. Take the tour on horseback!

A 10 minute drive west of Liberty Castle between Oracabessa and Boscobel Beach.


*Ocho Rios

Ocho Rios is famed for its tropical beauties. It is an exciting mix of tourism and local life, hagglers and bargains! The craft markets are laden with leather sandals, mahogany and ironwood carvings and straw goods. The streets are thumping with blaring dancehall music, a busy clock tower center and lots of action!

A fifteen minute drive west of Liberty Castle.


*Dunns River Falls

The falls are a series of breathtaking and cascading waterfalls that measure 600 feet from the mountains to the sea. A natural wonder to behold as the river dances down a giant limestone staircase to a white sand beach. Climbing the falls is spectacular!

2 miles west of Ocho Rios, a 20 minute drive from Liberty Castle.


*Fern Gulley

A former river bed naturally transformed into a 3 mile, vine-draped tunnel of lush rainforest. A canopy of giant ferns and exotic plants over 500 different species.

South of Ocho Rios, a 25 minute drive from Liberty Castle.


*Coyaba River Garden

Coyaba River Garden named after the Arawak word that describes the practice of burning herbs on flat stones. The scent produced a heavenly state or coyaba.

 The natural springs, waterfalls and clear pools filled with koi and turtles are a garden splendor.

Just minutes south of Ocho Rios.


*Nine Mile

The birthplace and final resting place of the great Bob Marley. Secluded in the tranquil countryside and owned and operated by Bob’s family.

Eighteen miles south of Runaway Bay.


*Green Grotto Caves

Just two miles of Discovery Bay is a subterranean lake beyond belief! Take a boat tour into the caves once used by pirates as a hiding place. Stalactites and Stalagmites!


*Port Maria

Firefly is the historical home of playwright Noel Coward. A beautiful vista of the Galina Point/ Cabarita Island shoreline. Visit the Zabai Tabai Museum below Firefly.

Port Maria is a ten minute drive East of Liberty Castle.


*Port Antonio/Navy Island

A charming seaside town surrounded by rugged and beautiful scenery. Writers and artists feel a sense of wonder here. A stunning natural beauty with twin harbors. A ferry takes you to nearby Navy Island once owned by Errol Flynn.

Fifty miles east of Liberty Castle.


*Rio Grande River

Six miles east of Port Antonio takes you to the gorgeous Rio Grande River where you can drift an eight mile descent on a bamboo raft.


*Blue Lagoon

An unforgettable, 180 feet deep, turquoise blue swimming hole complete with bar and restaurant! The free dive world record is held by the dive shop owners’ son in 2001 at 45 meters/148 feet in 1:40 minutes. A fifteen minute drive from Port Antonio.

 


*Boston Beach

You should find some surfboards for rent.

A 25 minute drive from Port Antonio.


*Reach Falls

An Eco-Park and Natural Delight that has to be seen to be believed! The falls were the setting in the Tom Cruise movie “Cocktail.” A great adventure… spend the day.

A 45 minute drive from Port Antonio.
